About
The online publication devby.io has been operating since 2008. For the past 15 years, our focus has been on the people, projects, and events driving Belarusian high tech. For a long time, it was a success story — but since 2020, the industry has been entering twilight: first due to the political crisis in Belarus, and then (even more rapidly) due to the war in Ukraine. Against this backdrop, we honestly cover how people and companies are trying to survive — both in Belarus and abroad — and help them stay connected with one another.
Our editorial team consists of 20+ people across several countries, plus management, back office, and tech specialists.
In 2023, our website attracted up to 750,000+ readers per month, 50,000+ subscribers across four Telegram channels, and 120,000+ followers on other social media platforms.
Our audience includes not only IT specialists (there were over 100,000 of them in Belarus even before the mass relocation), but also members of the active middle class who strive for independence — professionals from digital and creative fields, entrepreneurs, educators, students, scientists, activists, and anyone planning a transition into IT or simply interested in innovation.
We publish over 300 pieces of content each month — news, stories, opinions, investigations, and analysis. All Belarusian media quote dev.by.
