Editorial Policy
Our Mission
dev.by aims to promptly provide the professional community with useful, detailed, high-quality, and balanced information about events in the IT sector in Belarus.
Conflict of Interest
The dev.by editorial team acts in the interests of readers and the industry as a whole. We do not serve the corporate interests of companies. Other departments exist for this purpose — advertising, partner materials, «Jobs,» and company blogs.
Full-time and freelance authors, and editors of dev.by are prohibited from recommending commercial products in their publications. It is unacceptable for editorial staff to receive personal benefits from other organizations or individuals they interview.
The activities of authors outside of dev.by should not cast a shadow on the publication’s image or compromise the objectivity of our journalism.
Accuracy
We strive to portray events in the IT sector as they truly are. We meticulously verify the facts presented in our materials.
We do not simplify complex problems and phenomena; instead, we aim to describe them with all their nuances and details.
Impartiality
Our authors strive to be impartial and honest regarding the people and events featured in our publications.
In a conflict situation, we always provide an opportunity for an alternative opinion to be expressed.
Vetting
By prior arrangement, we may discuss with the subjects of our materials (speakers) their direct speech or fragments of conversations recorded by journalists to verify facts and/or clarify details.
We do not approve materials or remove statements from subjects (speakers) upon request if they are factually accurate and have informational value for the material.
Errors
We correct significant errors clearly and explicitly, indicating exactly what information was presented incorrectly.
For Authors
We reserve the right to edit author-submitted materials for publication in such a way that the facts and ideas presented therein are not distorted.
